Will Newt Survive his Ex-Wives with Knives?

The O’Jays would appreciate the jam Newt Gingrich has found himself in.

But perhaps none can stab harder or deeper than a vindictive and bitter ex. I’m not trying to be sexist here, and I know a lot of men who are real jerks to their ex-wives and do incredibly horrific things, but I think there are some women among us that are so skillful and adept at vindictiveness that their accuracy and timing of the barbs and bombs would make the best missile guidance system blush with shame.

Most men will only hold a grudge for so long. And men are capable of trading that long term grudge in for a 5 minute round of mutual face bashing followed by a few rounds of beer and immediate friendship.

And this behavior is completely baffling to women who are quite capable of holding a grudge exactly at the boiling point from cradle to grave – and probably beyond. I know people who swear their bad luck is a direct result of a woman’s grudge from beyond the grave. An unseen aura of misfortune that never dissipates emanating from a long dead woman over some long forgotten feud.

But some women apparently carry an undiscovered gene, or perhaps a special invisible gland that is reserved specifically for and highly attuned to a single, specific breed of male.

I am referring to an ex-husband. He who shall never achieve success or happiness … ever!

Not all exes. It is usually a specific ex that brings forth this usually recessive characteristic. And to be fair to the ladies, I’m not saying that the jerk does not deserve it. At least for a decade or so. Forever? I’m not so sure about that.

And Newt Gingrich has one such ex-wife.

And you will get no argument from me denying that Newt Gingrich was a jerk to this lady. He was. No doubt about it.

And for a married man to have an affair is not something to be proud of. But when Newt began seeing Marianne Ginther, he was still married to his first wife!

Apparently Marianne had no problem with Newt cheating on his first wife with her.

In the spring of 1980, Gingrich left Battley after beginning an affair with Marianne Ginther.

There is just something a bit hypocritical about a woman who has an affair with a married man and then becomes upset when he repeats the same behavior with her.

So, in the eyes of Newt’s first wife, Marianne was the bitch that broke up her marriage.

So, pardon me if I fail to see Marianne Gingrich as a faithful woman wronged by a philandering man.

She is no better than him. And any woman that has an affair with a married man, weds that man and expects him to then be faithful to her should have her head examined. It is simply not in his DNA.

They began their relationship as an open arrangement and Newt was perfectly comfortable continuing the same deal after they were married.

There is no way anyone should see Marianne Granger as the victim here. Both she and Newt were promiscuous adulterers. Perhaps she stopped, perhaps not. But he certainly continued his pattern.

Neither of these people are saints.

ABC News was absolutely wrong to give this woman an opportunity to lash out at her ex husband. There was nothing new in this and no one was shocked.

Especially in light of the absolute lack of interest ABC had when a sitting president – Bill Clinton – was having an affair in the White House! They claimed it was his personal, private business.

And Newt Gingrich was right to give John King, CNN and ABC News the severe dress-down he dished out last night. And he was right on target to point out the left wing media bias and pro Obama tilt of these so called “News” outlets.

America is in serious trouble and we need the best and brightest to dig us out of this. And Barack Obama is not it!

This gambit by the left wing media will backfire. Newt Gingrich will most likely get a tremendous boost. Not only for lashing out at the biased media, but for showing the guts that it will take to defeat Obama in November.

The timidity displayed by John McCain in 2008 didn’t work then and will not work in 2012. Gingrich is the only candidate of the remaining 4 that has shown the ability to cut through the BS and tell it like it is.

And Newt’s baggage that we keep hearing about? I can give you $16 Trillion reasons that pale any baggage Newt may have.

We need a candidate with the fortitude and fire to go head to head and toe to toe with the Democrats and the media in order to win this. Unless one of the other candidates suddenly finds the Cojones necessary to get the job done, our best hope may have been on display in the first 12 minutes of last night’s debate.

I think Newt will not only survive this ABC / CNN character assassination attempt, I believe he will use it to his advantage. And the left wing media will have created the monster that will consume the Progressives and Barack Obama in November.
